Family income is growing

There is 3.3% increase in the average annual income per capita totaling 3937lv, announced the National Statistics Institute(NSI) in April. The salary remains the main contributor to the family income comprising 51.8% of it. In comparison the salary comprised 50.9% of the family income in 2010. When it comes to pensions, they made up 34.2% of the family income in 2010 and decreased to 33.3% in 2011.

NSI also indicated an increase of 6.6% in the family expenses reaching 3494lv. There is a reduction in annual consumption of bread and paste products in 2011 with 106.7kg per capita. In 2010 the Bulgarian consumer ate on average 2kg more bread and paste products or 108kg annually. There is an increase in the consumption of meat, fish, fruits and vegetables. The consumption of milk, yoghurt, cheese, alcoholic beverages and cigarettes has also decreased.
