Carrefour opens high-tech hypermarket in Warsaw

Carrefour opened a new hypermarket in Warsaw earlier this month, which features a range of new commercial concepts and digital retail solutions.

The 2,000 square meter store sells nearly 13,000 food products, including organic and gluten-free products, a wide range of fresh fruit and vegetables, meat, cheeses, fish, bread, and an extensive selection of beers and wines.

It also includes a dedicated restaurant area, selling ready-made dishes such as salads, sushi, tapas, pastries and fresh fruit juices, as well as a number of hot meals prepared on site.

Moreover, Carrefour has introduced a number of high-tech shopping solutions in the new Warsaw store.

Customers can order any food products that are unavailable in the store through one of the 19 interactive screens that have been installed throughout the hypermarket.

Using the retailer’s Mon Carrefour mobile app, they can place an order and have the goods delivered anywhere in the city, or opt to collect them from a cooled locker located outside the shopping centre.

With this new service, customers can now access over 16,500 food products, and 6,000 non-food products that are available on

Like other Carrefour hypermarkets in Poland, the new store also offers the retailer’s Scan&Go service, which allows customers to scan purchases themselves, and complete the payment with their mobile phones.

Additionally, next to the customer service point, a machine has been installed that allows customers to generate receipts for their purchases themselves.
