In December 2012, Tesco was the company that owned the largest retail area in the Czech Republic, according to estimates from Cushman & Wakefield. The British grocery retailer has been topping the list since December 2010.
IKEA was ranked as the second-largest owner in terms of retail floor space, followed by InterCora, the Czech retail park developer.
As of December 2012, the largest retail properties owners controlled 1.85 million m² of GLA, which represented around 50% of the total retail stock in the Czech Republic compared to 47% in December 2010. The total retail stock in the country was 3.7 million m².
