German retailer Rewe is able to offer less products in its Russian branches due to the Russian import ban on Western food, German website n-tv.de reports. "The product range has been hit by the situation, and we're keeping a close eye on the situation," Rewe CEO Frank Hensel told Austrian newspaper 'Wirtschaftsblatt' in an interview.
Russia has responded to the EU sanctions with an import ban on food. Nevertheless, business in Russia is going satisfactorily. "We are still achieving good figures," Hensel says. Rewe is represented in Russia with 97 branches of supermarket chain 'Billa'. For the current year, he expects the company will ultimately achieve a plus when it comes to revenue.
