Turkish grocery retailer Migros Ticaret has reported sales revenue of TRL3.3 billion (USD1.74 billion) for the first half of 2013, an increase of 10.1% in comparison to the same period last year. Gross profit increased by 9.9% to TRL878 million (USD463 million). The retailer’s strategy remains firmly focused on driving growth through new store openings, particularly in the core supermarket business. At the end of the first half of 2013, Migros was ahead on the store opening plan, having opened 112 new stores including 109 supermarkets, two hypermarkets and one Ramstore.
