Lidl announces CEO exit over strategy differences

Lidl has replaced its CEO for the second time in three years. Sven Siedel, who replaced Karl-Heinz Holland in 2014 after "unbridgeable" future strategy differences, has left the business. When Seidel was appointed, Lidl stated that Karl-Heinz Holland had "differing views concerning the future strategy of the business".

Lidl has promoted Dane Jesper Hojer to the CEO role, with Seidel, again leaving over unspecified differences over strategy, according to the family-owned Schwarz Group. Hojer, 38, has worked for Lidl for more than 10 years, including as head of the business in Belgium and most recently as head of its international buying operation.
