Lidl has announced plans to invest around 70 million euros to build a new logistics platform in Spain. The 71,800-square-metre centre will supply more than 150 stores, LogiNews.com has reported. The first phase of the project is scheduled to be finished by the end of autumn of this year, while the whole structure will be finished by the same time next year.
The distribution centre will have a storage area for 10,000 pallets, as well as 12,000 square metres set aside for cold-room storage. The new platform will be located in Alcalá de Henares, Madrid, and it will be Lidl's largest logistics centre.
